MY BOOK REVIEW:
This book is a sweet, adorable, warm-hearted read!!
This book follows Bella, a fun-loving, spirited, five-year-old girl who begins asking her grandmother if she’ll still love her even if she does such and such activity, and without a doubt or hesitation the grandmother always responds that of course, no matter what, she’ll always love her.
I enjoyed listening to the many activities and situations that Bella comes up with that she thought for sure would annoy or displease her grandmother and possibly cause her not to love her anymore.
As Bella is a young girl it seems she possibly doesn’t realize that a grandmother’s love is unconditionally forever. Or perhaps Bella sees it more as a fun game challenging her grandmother to see how far she can push her and what she can get away with lol.
I really liked the relationship bond between Bella and her grandmother!! It was gentle, caring, inspiring, and angelic.
This book is a fairly quick read with a total of 22 pages - with only eight pages of text and eight pages of illustrations. While most younger children’s books usually fall under the 250-word count, this book just barely surpasses that at 267 words. Regardless, this book is still fun, easy to read out loud, and enjoyable for dialogic reading.
I also want to mention that I really liked the fun, vivid colored illustrations. Each text page and corresponding illustration page were very fitting and complementary of each other. I especially enjoyed the white “cut-out” hearts pattern on the solid, bright colored backdrop on the text pages. I am a total list maker and one thing that can always be found on all of my note pages are heart doodles lol, so it made me smile to see someone else obsessed with fun, heart shapes too lol!!
Another awesome addition that this book includes is a fun inside scoop on the author, Bella, and her mom, Katia. I enjoyed learning more about this mother and daughter dream team duo and their inspiration behind writing this book.
Even though this book is classified as a children’s book, I’m rating it “E for Everyone,” as this book is sure to be adored by kids, loved by parents, and of course, cherished by grandparents.
Also, this book was published in a Spanish edition under the title, “De Abuela con Amor,” and I attached those books buy links below as well.
All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and would absolutely recommend it!! I think all young readers and their families will like this book too!! So add it to your TBR List and get to reading – you won’t be disappointed!!
