“I don’t deserve to be comforted.”
He rubbed her back reassuringly. “Yeah, you do. I’ve never seen more courage than what you displayed back in that cabin. Even after that bitch beat you up, you never quit. Don’t you dare quit on me now, doll.”
“Okay…” She sniffed back sobs and wiped her nose with the back of her hand. “I won’t.”
“Get on my back.” He pulled her to her feet. “I’ll carry you until we find a safe place to rest.”
She tilted her head in concern. “That’s too much on you.”
“Look at me, babe. Then tell me I can’t do this.”
Her cheeks flushed hot. He was indeed built. “I didn’t mean to insult you.”
“Then climb aboard, woman. Let’s get moving. I can make better time. That wench said she’d be gone a couple hours.”
“She’ll be back sooner if she notices the missing keys.”
“All the more reason we need to make tracks.” He squatted and nodded for her to climb onto his back.
She did as he requested, hiking her legs up to his waist and wrapping both arms around his strong neck. He gripped her thighs with his hands then set off at a jog. His stamina and strength were nothing short of inspiring, making her feel even more drawn to this imposing male.

Shiloh Love is a fan of happily ever after. Her novels are too!
Shiloh enjoys creating romance, paranormal romance, and romantic suspense stories with a gritty flair. Her stories are her own, and she typically writes outside the box. I need muscular, tall, handsome...Ian Somerhalder as Shade. He's not very buff but he sure is gorgeous! Actually, I'd want a new unknown gorgeous man to star as Shade. And for the two criminal women, Uma Thurman as Joan and Cameron Diaz as Missy. Then there's Malika, the stunning shocker, hmm, maybe Angelina Jolie for her!
