EXCERPT ONE:
S T A I R C A S E
I saw red while you held my hand
on that hill in a castle of sand
being nice, coming out of the blue
you were losing me, undeniably true
I was just another trophy for your shelf
overloaded by the further rusty twelve
Dissociating from this charming place
you are a mess inside, I know it’s the case
this romance had better leave no trace
but at sunset we sat here on the staircase
THE HIGHER THE STAIRCASE, THE CLEARER THE VIEW.

Thank you so much for featuring WORDS TO THINK. OR TO SING.
ReplyDeleteDear Fabulous and Brunette,
ReplyDeleteIt is such a pleasure to be here with you today. Thank you so much for featuring WORDS TO THINK. OR TO SING., a poetic collection of lyric excerpts from my pop songs in progress. I am so glad you chose "STAIRCASE" as the excerpt. This one is about those times when we sense something is off, but it’s too painful to change or we’re simply not ready yet, trying to appreciate a superficially beautiful scene even though the situation feels deeply suboptimal.
If you would like to explore the publication a bit further before giving it a go, Readers’ Favorite recently gave it 5 stars, calling it “one of the most unique forms of artistic expression seen in a book.” You can read the full review here: https://readersfavorite.com/book-review/words-to-think-or-to-sing
To wonderful conversations and exciting new discoveries.
United in intensity,
Intensia
I really like the excerpt and the cover.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sherry! So glad it resonates with you :)
DeleteAll lyric excerpts from the book carry a secret melody, which I’m fine-tuning one song at a time, along with their music production and publishing details. To me, a piece of art is always a multifaceted experience. Sometimes my inner voice gives me words, sometimes melody bites or just a message idea, but always true emotions to start. And while crafting, my mind travels in seconds through music video possibilities, audio concept thoughts, artwork, colors, scenes, fonts, scents, and everything else I could do to enhance the experience and make it even more memorable and entertaining.
I hope we can sing some of your favorite lines together one day, I'd love to have you in for this special sonorous artistic journey :)
This looks like a book I will thoroughly enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Michael!
DeleteWith it, I wanted to offer a glimpse into my mind and soul to everyone open for artistic journeys at the earliest stage possible instead of presenting finished results, as we’re all used to. Sharing poetic lyric excerpts from my pop songs in progress, paired with little insights about their meanings, seemed to me a remarkable approach to introduce myself and genuinely connect from the beginning of the story in an original, special form.
Music has always been there for me in such a meaningful and empowering way, so I’d be more than glad and honored if I could become a music companion to everyone enjoying this publication.
I look forward to hearing which lines resonate most with you :)
