GENRE: Contemporary Romance

BLURB:
That
guy—the one that most girls would run away from—captured Kara’s attention and
wouldn’t let it go. As expected, he turned out to be a player. So she cut him
off.
But
he wasn’t done with her yet. He waited until the memory of their start would
have been forgotten—at least, softened a bit. Then he returned to her life, and
captured her heart.
Finally
blissfully happy, they fall in love and decide to make it official…until his
past catches up with him and he destroys her again. But this is it…this is the
last time she’ll fall for him.
And
she keeps telling herself that until she almost believes it.
This book is for mature audiences.

EXCERPT TWO:
Chapter 9
A
few minutes later, I heard the door open again.
“That
was quick,” I said while shuffling cards, not paying attention to Anna’s
return. But it wasn’t Anna. It was Naheed…he walked around the corner, and
leaned next to me, putting a hand on the back of my chair.
“You
forgot your drink,” he said, setting the drink down in front of me while
keeping his hand on the back of my chair, essentially enclosing me in his arms.
“Thank
you.” I felt the heat emanating from him and I know my face was bright red. I
couldn’t breathe. Butterflies were storming around my stomach.
“You’re
welcome. Aren’t you going to even say hello? You’re acting like I’m a
stranger.”
“Hello,”
I said. I haven’t even looked at him yet. I was avoiding that like the plague.
I knew our eyes would lock, just like they used to…and I can’t let this get out
of hand.
“So,
you’re engaged to Dominik. Why him?”
A
slight fit of anger made me look up to Naheed; he’s still standing incredibly
close to me.
“Why
do you care?”
“Because…he’s
not the one for you.”
“Ah,
how ironic. That’s what my friends said about you.”
“Yeah,
I remember.”
“And
you still have a girlfriend…so, I guess things ended up the way they were
supposed to.”
I
got to him; he looked pissed. He was quiet for a minute…then sat in the chair
next to me.
“Kara,
I’m with her because you walked away. YOU WALKED AWAY from us,” he said loudly.
“What
did you expect me to do?”

NOTE FROM THE
AUTHOR:
The
book, Flawed, is not erotica, but does include some steamy scenes, and contains
adult situations (curse words, drinking alcohol, etc).

GUEST POST:
Four Reasons You Should Read My Book:
1. It’s a romance, but the female lead is not a victim. Flawed is not about a girl being saved,
it’s about a love struggling to survive in a complex world.
We
all love a damsel in distress, but not all of us need to be saved. Kara’s an
introvert, but she’s confident and in control of her life…and that life is
pretty darned good. Everything doesn’t come easy for her, though…she falls hard
for Naheed and her heart is broken more than once. But she’s not a victim; she
brushes herself off and gets right back up.
And did
I mention that Kara’s fabulous and brunette?
2. It’s not sappy. Sure,
everyone loves a pure, innocent love story, but that’s just not the way real
life is anymore…at least, not for the Young
and Privileged of Washington, DC. Kara and her friends are all upper class,
live in the city or near suburbs, and have experiences that raised their
maturity well beyond their years. This story is contemporary, and a bit edgy
without erotica or anything too crazy.
I
love reading a clean story here and there—Emma’s
a favorite of mine—but there’s something passionate about having fewer
boundaries in speech and action. Flawed is about good young adults who drink
and curse, and sometimes have to decide which evil to choose.
3. It’s relatable. If
you’ve ever been to Washington, DC, you may easily identify some of the
locations where the stories take place. If you’ve lived in the city, you can
relate to the personalities, likes and dislikes, and general lifestyle of the
characters. Our nation’s capital is a diverse place that can support a variety
of activities and lifestyles…it’s not all politics.
The
characters are relatable. They’re just young adults trying to enjoy life while
checking off the boxes of what they should do to mature (school, etc.). Flawed is told in the first person, so
you can really understand Kara’s feelings and thoughts. You get to know her,
and her pain and happiness. These feelings are the same no matter who you are.
4. It’s only $2.99—you pay more than that for a
coffee that’s gone in a half hour! Why not make your money last hours with a
book that you can read over and over again? All of the books in this series are
priced at 2.99 and are often offered for free here and there. Follow me on
Facebook or Twitter, or sign up to the newsletter through my website –you’ll be
the first to know when a book is offered up for free! But if you want to read
to something now, 2.99 isn’t a big investment.
