GENRE: Romantic Suspense

BLURB:

Leanna Dixon has had enough. She no longer wants to be a punching bag for her husband, Mark. Without a word, she packs her bag and flees from her hell.

Arriving in her new home, things begin to go wrong from the start. Through all the bad she meets James, an Austin Police Officer, who helps her pick up the pieces of her shattered life.

***

Mark Dixon rules his women with an iron fist. When he arrives home and finds his wife has left him, his anger begins to build to dangerous levels. He knows he needs to find her and teach her a lesson, just as his father had done to his mother.

Will Leanna survive or will she become another statistic?

EXCERPT TWO:

After a day at the courthouse, James and Leanna head to the Double Deuce Bar and Grill to celebrate her first step in placing her mistakes in the past.  James has Leanna twirling on the dance floor while sneaking kisses on her neck when he can.  They’re both smiling and laughing that neither one notice the man in the corner of the bar eyeballing them.  He takes a long drag from his cigarette while slanting his eyes at the happy couple.

Mark finds his anger growing stronger and deeper than he’s ever felt it before.  Leanna hits nerves within him that he didn’t even know existed.  He worked his ass off for her and took her in as his wife when her parents died.  He worked twelve hour days to keep a roof over her head and food in her belly.  All he asked from her was a hot meal on the table when he got home and a clean house.  She didn’t have to do anything but those two things but no, that wasn’t good enough for her.

He crushes the cigarette in the ashtray and downs the whiskey before him.  He swipes his mouth of the drops of amber colored drink.  He rises from his seat and makes his way out of the bar—never taking his eyes off of Leanna.  It won’t be long now and you’ll be mine again.  And this time, I’ll never let you out of my sight.
