Toil and Trouble: A DCL Publications Anthology - Six Remarkable Tales from Six Fabulous Authors - Book Tour - Book Blast - Giveaway - Enter Daily!

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. The authors will be awarding a $10 Amazon OR Barnes and Noble Gift Card (Winner's Choice!!!) to a randomly drawn winner. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.

The brew is hot and bubbling over with romance and terror in this twistedly beautiful anthology that welcomes the darkness of horror and the temptation of love's veiled promises. Six remarkable tales from six incredible authors fill this book of dark shadows and ancient whispers.

Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble - by Jennifer Patricia O'Keeffe: Enchanted pastries and spell-brewed coffee make Esmerelda's sugar-dusted counter the city's most coveted haunt—until a dangerously charming newcomer slips into her shop, immune to her magic and unraveling her carefully guarded world. As his witch-hunter heritage threatens to burn her legacy to ash, Esmerelda finds herself torn between the threat of revenge from the witch hunter's ancestors and the intoxicating truth of the connection that they share.

Silverwood - by Lynn Hubbard: A lonely rancher's daughter finds her isolated Wyoming homestead upended when an amber-eyed stranger ignites a mud-splattered passion that defies reason—until his supernatural secret and the vengeful ranch hands hunting her force her to choose between the man who saves her and the monster who might destroy her. Torn between fierce protectors and forbidden desire, she must trust the very darkness that could shatter her world to survive the wild frontier's deadliest threats.

Ivy, Lichens and Wallflowers - by James Ryan: Marketing executive Hilda finds solace from her stifling corporate life and overbearing past in the quiet companionship of Miriam, a mysterious 19th-century marble statue in a city micro-park, only to discover their connection transcends stone when Miriam begins answering her handwritten notes through cryptic poetry left in return. As their forbidden connection deepens into an intoxicating dream-bound romance, Hilda uncovers Miriam's supernatural secret: she's a cursed thaumaturge sustained by stolen life force, forcing Hilda to confront whether love can survive the devastating cost of keeping her alive.

A Mirror to Die For - by Cindy Lewis Smith: A desperate woman finds solace in an antique mirror that whisks her nightly to 1880s Arizona, where a charming outlaw named Johnny Ringo fulfills every fantasy—until her jealous fiancĂ© shatters the glass and vanishes, leaving her trapped in an asylum screaming that he is the real monster, a man who shouldn't exist: Dr. John Henry Holliday, the gambler who killed Ringo a century ago. Now, with "MPR" carved into her cell walls and time itself unraveling, she'll stop at nothing to prove her sanity by proving time travel is real—even if it means unleashing the very darkness that destroyed her.

Flight 1031: Cosmic Turbulence - by Julian Christian: Diplomatic courier Sarah Martinez boards Flight 1031 expecting routine turbulence, not a Halloween dimensional rift that strands her at Germania International Airport—where the Greater German Reich has ruled since 1943 and perfected technology to harvest souls from parallel realities through consciousness-scanning machinery that pulses with seventeen-beat rhythms. Now trapped in a terminal that breathes like a living organism, Sarah must navigate a world where every passenger hides a secret and her resistance could either save her timeline or doom infinite versions of humanity to eternal enslavement in a Reich that spans all dimensions.

Dream a Little Dream - by Jae El Foster: After a near-death car crash rewires her brain, Sarah's nightmares bleed into reality: sugar on the counter forms glyphs, bats appear out of nowhere in broad daylight, and her own hands betray her—while the velvet-eyed stranger from her dreams appears in her waking hours, his urgency growing as Halloween's veil thins. Now, with her reality twisting into something surreal and an ancient language hijacking her voice, she must confront a dark truth: her soul isn't hers to keep, and the man who saved her in death is the very entity hunting her in life.

"May I have a glass of water?" I asked.

I'm just so uncomfortable. These clothes I am wearing are itchy and stained. I have no recollection of purchasing this outfit. It's definitely not mine nor my style. My hair feels gritty and needs to be washed and brushed. Any day now my fiancé John Henry, some people call him Doc, will be bringing me my own clothes and makeup, and a new hair brush too. I know he will. I can't wait to see him. It's been so long.

In fact, I don't know where he could be. The last time I saw him we argued, but that was the way it was for us. I'd forgive him and we would go on as if nothing happened. This chair is uncomfortable. The seat is worn out and the softness of the padding has long gone. I have to keep squirming and readjusting my body just to be able to endure the sitting.

I noticed the clock on the wall directly in front of me. It's one of those large heavy clocks, probably weighing fifty pounds or more. There's a picture of the Eiffel Tower in the face of the clock. The word Paris is written in a pretty script over the tower. I doubt anyone in this place has ever been to Paris. It's on my bucket list. John Henry and I may honeymoon in Paris once we're married, although he's been talking about going back to Georgia instead.

To distract my thoughts in the silence of this morbidly uncomfortable room, I envision the clock falling and crashing to the floor, leaving a giant hole in the wall where the nail would be. I imagine that the glass in the clock has broken into thousands of tiny pieces. Sharp pointy shards of glass are scattered throughout the room, glittering like diamonds on velvet. Aren't they so pretty?

"I'm sorry, I lost my train of thought."

"Go on," he said, "Tell me more about what happened to John Henry"

I love talking about John Henry. My story, it's all true, you know. Every single word. I wouldn't have believed it myself if it didn't happen to me.

I readjusted myself one more time in the chair and continued.

"It all started the day I purchased the mirror," I explained.

"You see, I hadn't slept but maybe four or five restless hours the entire previous week. My life had become mundane and boring. The excitement was gone between me and John Henry. His demeanor had changed. He said it wasn't him, it was me who had changed. But, I knew he was lying."

He never told me any truths. Not anything about his past or what he did when he left me. Sometimes, I felt like he was only using me. Like I was a mysterious link or something between what he used to be and what he wanted to be now. It's hard to explain, it was probably nothing more than my imagination.

John Henry was just so ruggedly handsome, I couldn't help myself, so I forgave him often when we argued. Maybe because of our fighting and torrent relationship, the headaches were coming more and more frequently. And, more intense.

I refused to take the prescription medication I was given. Those pills... those little pink and red pills! NO! No, not those pills again. I couldn't take it anymore. I tossed the prescription bottle into the trash can and grabbed the keys to my car on my way out the door. I heard the door slam behind me and I didn't look back. I was not going to think about John Henry, if only for one day.

"My old Chevy was stuttering and in need of some repairs, but it didn't stop me from driving wherever I wanted to go. And that day, I wanted to go across the border. It was a warm day in late September, with barely a breeze moving through the dry air. I was wearing a big straw hat, the same kind the Chiquita Banana woman wears on the TV commercials, a pair of dark sunglasses and shoes that flipped back and forth on my feet."

I was getting low on gas so I coasted into an old, mostly deserted town in southern Arizona. It was just a few miles or so, maybe thirty or forty minutes across the border. I didn't want to take a chance on stalling out the car. Service stations out there are few and far between. I parked my car on a dust covered side street and strolled to the downtown area of this dusty little town.

Some old-timers were outside sitting on benches that lined the wooden sidewalks of the streets. Their wrinkled cheeks were swollen on one side from a wad of chewing tobacco. A dirty brass spittoon was centered on the sidewalk between them. I could feel them staring at me. You know that kind of stare implying that I didn't belong there, that I'm out of place.

EXCERPT ONE:

From The Joys of Getting Pregnant or Sweet Little Angel from Hell by Jae El Foster:

He stood outside the doors, trying to look in through the opening, but it appeared dark inside and he could see nothing.

“Hello?” he asked again, and still, he received no response. Finally, growing impatient, he pushed the doors open and allowed the rays of sunlight to brighten the interior.

For a building that had last served as a textile factory, what he saw seemed misleading. The sunlight brightened a long hallway that was lined with a red carpet and narrow wooden walls on either side.

Toby stepped inside and took two steps forward before turning around to the sound of the doors closing behind him. Now, with the sun blocked out, he was trapped in utter darkness.

“Okay,” he said, nervous and on guard as he turned in a circle. “Who’s there?”

At the end of the hallway, a single light flickered on, showing him that the hall ended with a turn to the right. Knowing he should just turn around and run, he decided against chickening out. He’d had such a bad run already that this adventure would either turn out better for him or just finish him all together. He knew one of those had to be the outcome, but the world was pissing him off and he was ready to face it, rather than hide from it.

Slowly, he walked toward the end of the hall and the flickering light that brightened it. There, he paused, looking down the right turn and seeing more of the same – nothingness through the darkness. Shaking off the nerves, he made the turn and continued.

Again, at the end of the hall, a light came on, this time illuminating a door. The door appeared to have a wooden frame with a frosted glass window. The window had writing on it, but from where he stood, he could not read it. So, with more timid steps, he approached it to read it.

“John Smith, Esquire,” read the lettering.

Although this made no sense to him – having an office and this sort of hallway in an old condemned factory – he was at least glad to see Mr. Smith’s name. That gave him a bit of confidence in that, perhaps, he had not fully had the wool pulled over his eyes.

Because of the frost glass, Toby could not see through the window to tell if anyone was inside or not, and so he knocked on the wooden portion of the door.

There was no answer. Of course there was no answer, he thought, shaking his head. It was Sunday. Even if this John Smith and his Chans Dyab Enterprises were real, they wouldn’t have been in this dark and abandoned building on a Sunday afternoon. Likely, the man was off golfing or playing a round or two of tennis. At least, that was what Toby thought rich business men did on their time off. Then again, he could have just been out hitting more people with his car.

As he turned to leave, the door clicked and opened just a few inches. The room seemed dark, but regardless of that, he pushed on the door and opened it fully. It illuminated as he stepped inside.

It was, indeed, an office. There was a grand mahogany desk with a chair that looked like it had cost Mr. Smith more than Toby’s baby juice had cost Roslyn. There was a tall file cabinet, two computers, and two guest chairs. A globe sat atop a bookshelf, and there was a window with the curtains closed at the far wall behind the desk. Although it was simply furnished, it felt posh – more executively exclusive than anywhere Toby had ever stepped into. It even smelled good.

The chair, he thought, looked too inviting. He looked around and behind him, ensuring no one else was in the room with him, and he walked to Mr. Smith’s chair, touching its soft warmth. Then, wondering what it would have felt like to have been a well-to-do businessman, he sat in the chair to get a feeling… to imagine his life being much better than it actually was.

The office door shut, securing him inside. Toby stood with a jolt of surprise.

GUEST POST:

‘A Melding of Worlds’

Greetings, and thank you for having me again! It’s always pleasure to be hosted by Fabulous and Brunette!

My story ‘The Joys of Getting Pregnant’ or ‘Sweet Little Angel from Hell’ was such a wild ride for me, creation-wise. While the story began as a simple tale about a sperm donor falling in love with his client, it quickly transformed into a dark comedy about the implications of knocking up a woman who happens to have a very powerful father.

Creating the backdrop of a story is one of my favorite aspects of writing, and this particular story gave me a melding of backdrops to work with. First and foremost, there’s the city. The city is where Toby – our protagonist – lives and works. The city is a cruel, hard place with bustling traffic, angry bosses, and bad drivers. Toby’s apartment in similar, in that it is shared with a sexually active hippie who offers an interesting cultural twist to the tale.

Primary backdrop number two is the abandoned warehouse building that Toby is sent to via the business card of a man that hits him with his car. The warehouse is nothing more than a ghost of what it once was – on first glance. On second glance, the building is an office complex for demons in suits, handling the dealings of souls and offerings.

The third main stage of this story is Hell – a seemingly unending pit of heat and fire, demons and sinners, and the angry father of the woman Toby knocks up. The backdrop of Hell had to be the most intricate of all because it needed to be displayed as something not quite like what has been portrayed before. Images of Hell and what it might look like have been crafted in literature and film for millions of years (okay, billions). Each writer got their opportunity to create their own version of Hell for readers or viewers to endure, and with this tale, I got mine.

The final notable backdrop for my story was church. The church had to be familiarly created in a way that most modern ‘mega-churches’ are laid out. It needed that large, echoing space for a key moment in the story to take place, and it had to have a lobby for an entertaining moment of comedy to happen – one that will surely give you a giggle or two.

The tricky part to having these great backdrops all in one story is that they have to be organic to the story. They have to be natural, and making an empty warehouse pass for a hopping office building, or transitioning from a drop through the fiery pits of Hell and into an office chair… those are transitions that have to be handled with drastic care in order to make sense. They must be woven together in a way that keeps the flow and the story moving without allowing the reader an opportunity or a desire to question how it could be.

I think I’ve done that… I hope I’ve done that. I’m almost certain I’ve done that, but as always, I’ll leave that up to the reader.

‘Falling for You’ is a fabulous anthology of romantic comedies and chick lit (yes, even the story I just described!) and I know my fellow authors involved are just as proud of it as I am. This anthology is an absolute perfect Halloween read, or really for any time of year. Speaking on behalf of myself and the others, we have given you our best; we sure hope you like it.

Until next time!
~ Jae El

Beauty Within
by Jae El Foster

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Fantasy, Romance, Paranormal, Fairy Tales
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

An enchanted mask. A harrowing castle. A reclusive dark lord. With the helping hand of the village witch, these three ingredients form a spell that will warm your heart as much as it chills it. Madame Howell makes her second appearance in Jae El Foster’s literary universe in this fairy tale that puts a new twist on an old classic. When a village maiden finds herself in a forbidden castle, she discovers that its sole occupant might be less of a monster than he has been made out to be. However, dark secrets and black magic are afoot, and a ‘happily ever after’ could turn disastrous. Will true love conquer all, or will a dark power make their world come crumbling down?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT TWO:
Hanging his head low, he sighed with a deep sadness, and in a bout of self-anger, he jerked his head up to the ceiling and cried out with an agony and a rage that he had never expressed with such intenseness. His scream ran long, and it echoed loudly throughout every hall and chamber of the castle and even into the blackened air outside. When this scream fell silent, he cried out once again, this time falling down to his knees in bitter self-loathing. His hands fell across his face, touching upon the scars that had sealed his doom. Running his fingers from his face to his hair, he grabbed two fistfuls of the golden locks and pulled hard, adding pain to his already crippling misery.
“Lest he who hath created his hell perish in his hell…” he whispered as the tears began to dry from his eyes. Then, with a leap, he rose to his feet and crossed the foyer to the staircase. With slow, steady movements, he began up the stairs, formulating in his thoughts what his next actions would be. His mind was hazy and in a fog, and thinking made his head only hurt more.
The stairs seemed to continue up for an eternity, but he was used to the climb and he made it to the belfry of his castle with practiced ease. There, he rushed past the old brass bell that had not rang in many, many years, and he forced his hands to brace him as he stopped abruptly at the stone encasing that prevented him from falling to his death below.
With tear-stained cheeks, he stared down at the foggy ground, barely able to see the dirt of the hill. He looked over just slightly and gazed at the village of Foliage, which was completely lost in the night and the thick of the fog surrounding it. The wind still blew with massive force, rocking against his chilled body but never once ringing the bell behind him. Had the bell decided to ring, it would have rocked up against him with enough strength that he would have been pushed from the belfry and down to the ground below, shattering every bone in his body.
This thought chilled him more than the powerful wind, and he held himself in his arms as he tried to find the cottage of the mistress with the mask. Even though he could see none of the buildings contained within Foliage, he knew now the exact location of the fair maiden’s home, and he stared in that direction for the longest of time.
“What I would give,” he whispered, releasing fog with his breath, “just to touch you… to hold you… to share but one dance with you.”
GUEST POST:
Dealing with Creative Convulsions
Every writer struggles from time to time. Sometimes, they face something called writer’s block – more accurately known as my muse has abandoned me. Other times, authors find themselves saddened over a negative comment or review, and it builds intimidation within the author, preventing them from moving on with their next project.
Once upon a time, when I had more energy and hair, I taught a little writer’s course that I called Creative Convulsions. The purpose of CC was to help authors and people wanting to become authors get beyond the writing stumps that slow us down. There are some things that writers can only learn with experience, whether that experience is gained through their personal touch or through someone else’s.
A book, within its creation process, evolves just as the author does through every word that he or she writes. Think of all of the components included in a freshman release. There is a plot, sure… in fact, there might be many plots – setting the reader off course and into a world of confusion. There is a protagonist. Do we follow the protagonist’s thoughts, or do we head jump? Likely in that first book, we’re head jumping from one character’s thoughts to another character’s thoughts in the same chapter, and while we – the authors – know what is going on, the reader doesn’t. The reader wants to know what is happening with the supporting characters but in the form of each chapter’s leading character’s view point. Otherwise, we slow the reader, and when we slow the reader, we confuse the story.
Your first book will be what it will be. You’ll have that plot (or those plots), you’ll have your protagonist, and your antagonist. That will feel fine, and whether your book is fifty pages or a thousand, you’re going to be proud of it. And no matter what, you should be proud of it.
Yet, there are reviews and critiques to worry about. What have the readers found or thought about your book that you might have missed? Are you using your punctuation incorrectly in quotes and compound sentences? Are your compound sentences leading to run-on sentences? Are your paragraphs jumbled with scattered thoughts that could have been better sorted out into individual paragraphs for each? Did you drop a plot in the story to focus on other ones and leave a reader hanging somewhere? Are there inconsistencies in the behaviors of your characters?
Perhaps none of those issues arrives with the readers, and that is the best case scenario. Congrats on that! Yet, you may have questions of your own. This is called second guessing yourself. Are you thinking about your characters and wondering if you’d developed them enough? Do you wish you had broken down something differently but settled for a different result instead? Are you happy with your cover and your font? Does it look professional enough to compete with the millions of other authors out there? If you are faced with these questions or others, utilize the ones you wish to tackle in your next book and grow from the experience.
This is all a part of the evolution of writing, of becoming a greater author, and of utilizing anything and everything said – positive words or negative words – to benefit you and your next work. Do not let a bad review or an internet troll – or even helpful creative criticism – keep you down. It is up to you to be hurt by what you read, or to be inspired by it. I know it is hard to find that inspiration sometimes, but it is in there. You have to grab it and carry on because your second book is going to be better than your first. Your third will be better than your second, and if you keep finding motivation and inspiration in everything around you, you and your writing will continue to improve every time your fingers strike the keys.
A wonderful teacher once told me to remember that nothing is ever finished. Every painting could have another stroke of paint. Every story could have another paragraph or chapter… You can spend your time working on one thing forever if you allow yourself to. You must, at some point, be able to say this is done and move on to the project’s next stages. You must realize that everything will be okay. It is up to the reader now, and not even the greatest authors in history have managed to please everybody all at once. Do your best, please yourself, and have the respect for your next project to allow your current one to fly out and discover the world.
My thanks to Fabulous and Brunette. I always love spending time here! Thanks also to Goddess Fish Promotions and DCL Publications for this terrific opportunity. To those stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed what I’ve shared. If you have any questions or comments, I’m all ears.
GENRE: Romance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURBS:

As I Follow by Anarie Brady

Princess Orla must first learn to follow if she is to lead her homeland once her evil step mother is dethroned. Who better to teach her than Prince Darcy, the leader of the rebellion against Queen Ena and a strict but fair Dominant who would love nothing better than to take the beautiful Orla in hand and return the kingdom of Athas to its former glory.

The Man with the Kind Eyes by Jae El Foster

Bridgette Mahoney just wanted a better life for herself and the people suffering under a corrupt president. What she gets is nominated to be Queen of the country whether she wants the position or not.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT TWO:
As I Follow, So Shall I Lead Excerpt:
“Princess, might I have a word?” a deep voice startled her out of her thoughts.
“Prince Darcy!” she squeaked, jumping to her feet. “Of course.”
“Shall we take a walk? I understand you have only seen this room of the Chateau. I’d like to give you a tour,” he said, holding his hand out to her.
Hesitantly she reached out her own hand and nodded. Ever since Gala shared some of her experiences in the Chateau’s training rooms, Orla had been curious. Actually, she had been dying to know more. While Gala had not gone into details, she had spoken of the feelings evoked by some of her sessions. Orla longed to experience such feelings of freedom, power, and something indescribable. During the past few weeks, she had witnessed the beauty of a woman kneeling before a man, the protective gentleness in the eyes of a dominant, and the glow of pride when a dominant praised his submissive. Orla felt a tingle deep within her body and had to admit that she longed for such feelings as well.
“Do you understand the dual nature of this facility?” Darcy asked as he led her down an ornate hallway.
“I believe so,” she answered. “The Chateau trains people in the arts of dominance and submission. Submission primarily, because, according to Gala, every good dominant understands what it is like to be a submissive.”
“That’s right.”
“People pay handsomely for the privilege of coming here to learn. The tuition then pays for the training of warriors who are in resistance to Queen Ena. They wish to overthrow her and place me back on the throne,” Orla said quietly.
“Indeed. Orla, it was your father’s last wish that you also be trained,” Darcy stated. “I am more than willing to help you learn how to become an effective ruler, but to become an applicant, you must yourself request it. We do not force anyone here. We abide by the dictums of Safe, Sane, and Consensual.”
Orla stopped walking and turned to face Darcy. “I understand and greatly respect you for following those dictums. Over the past few years, I have had no choice in what I wear, what I eat, when I speak, what I do, not even when I sleep. I’m ready for freedom of choice. My father also taught me that freedom is possible only when everyone agrees to follow certain guidelines. I don’t know if I’m ready to consent to this training yet, but let’s finish the tour and then I’ll decide.”
Darcy smiled and Orla breathed a sigh of relief. Despite Gala’s assurances, she hadn’t been sure that Darcy would respect her decision.
“Princess, I see you are wise as well as cautious. Both excellent characteristics in both a ruler and a submissive. Shall we continue?” he asked before tucking her hand into the crook of his arm.
Orla’s eyes widened and her heart began to beat erratically as Darcy showed her every room of the Chateau. First, there was the Medical Room where applicants were given a thorough medical exam to determine their overall fitness. “No one is excluded because of a physical difficulty,” he explained, “but it is essential that a primary be intimately familiar with any limitations. For example, if an applicant has respiratory difficulties, then the primary knows never to engage in breath play and to be very, very cautious about gags.”
“Good to know you take safety seriously,” Orla commented.
“It’s the first S of our motto – Safe, Sane, and Consensual.”
GUEST POST:
Who Inspired Your Love for Books?
When I was little, I was raised on two things - Little Golden Books and Archie Comics. I'll be honest; I still read Archie Comics today.
My mother was always a fan of Archie, Betty, Veronica, and the rest of the gang. I am thankful she instilled them in me, as they gave me dose of humor that I have held within myself and in my writing throughout the years. Archie is my humor. The stories reflect the most unlikely of situations, and yet, to the readers, they seem perfectly normal. We all know Betty and Veronica would have both left Archie years ago, and still they fight for him and fawn over him. If that isn’t unlikely humor, I don’t know what is.
Apart from humor is a different side of me – a poetic man of prose, inspired and inflicted into me by the great American poet Walt Whitman. Mr. Whitman released several editions of his Leaves of Grass poetic anthology, and I bet you I have a copy of each… or at least my bookshelf looks like I do. I collect volumes of his work because of the inspiration it has sent unto me. A framed portrait of Mr. Whitman hangs near my desk in my home office, so that his inspiration is always nearby.
There is also a darker side to my literary being – a place in me where ghosts haunt the unsuspecting and monsters roam the earth. This side of me is built from my love of horror and suspense masterminds Ira Levin and Robert Bloch. Ira Levin was a genius at fast-paced suspense. He allowed us to see the uncanny darkness in our neighbors like no one else. Robert Bloch – who passed years ago on my birthday – opens our eyes to the psychotics of strangers and stranglers in the shadows. These two authors built pedestals of fear that could tip the blood pressure to a dangerous limit.
My Shaded Whisperings series, however, is my own little Twilight Zone. Inspired by the great Rod Serling, it is my outlet for ironic, iconic horror releases that incorporate so much more than cheap scares. The Twilight Zone made viewers think, and even the short stories that were published in the early anthologies took your mind to new places and challenged it to comprehend and understand what cannot ever possibly be understood. They made you feel, and that is my intention with Shaded Whisperings. It is a series that make you feel the fear – not just become witness to it. And trust me – the series will just get better.
With books 1 and 2 in the series currently available (Forever and Playing St. Nick), I have been busily at work to create the third installment – something I guarantee my readers have never experienced before. While I am tight-lipped about the third book, I will share just a few bits of information. It is titled Shaded Whisperings: She Rises at Night, and it tells the story of Bob and Karen – a tragically unhappy couple that move across the globe in an effort to rekindle their relationship. The other thing I will share is that it is my first – and will likely be my only – stab at the Zombie genre, and I promise you that you will stay on the edge of your seat. Don’t look for an insane zombie apocalypse. This is zombies in a different light.
I appreciate the chance to share these thoughts with you. To see how my literary influences have further inspired me, visit my website.
