Bound by destiny, torn by fate—their love stood unbroken, victorious over all.

Kat MacArthur still feels the loss of her brother to another time. Seeking solace, she stumbles upon Ceallach, a Fae warrior, she’s had feelings for ever since she met him. The emotion grows stronger whenever they are together. Yet he warns her to stay away from the upcoming gathering for the Iona Stones. Kat refuses—she needs to be there to help her family and Ceallach.

Ceallach is torn between duty, magic, and the ache for mortal love. His Fae soul is sworn to protect the Iona Stones during the Gathering, but his heart is lost to Kat. With the prophecy looming, he cannot promise her forever—no matter how much he longs to. The maiden of the Iona Stones now faces sacrifice, and he fears if his beloved gets too close, he cannot save her.

When dark forces rise to take the Iona Stones along with their powers, Ceallach is forced into an impossible decision—to defy destiny or surrender to love?

EXCERPT ONE:

Still wearing a grin, he strode forward with confidence, and a sensuality Kat had not forgotten. The man still took her breath away with one look. Ceallach arrived before her, a smile playing on his lips. As his eyes swept across her face, the expression faltered. His brows knitted together in a frown, shadowing the sudden tension in his gaze. Reaching with his finger, he lifted a tear from her cheek, gripped his fist hard, and when opened, a small, clear teardrop-shaped gemstone sat in his palm.

“Dry yer tears, sweet Kat. Yer face is much prettier without them.” He took her hand and, with his other placed the gemstone in her palm. “When ye hold the gem, yer tears will fade, and happy thoughts shall fill yer heart.” When the stone touched her skin, her mind cleared, and a sense of ease washed over her.

Ceallach released her hand and strode past her to the doors.

Kat turned, calling after him. “Wait, why are ye here?”

The attractive Fae stopped and turned. “Dagda sent me. I’ve come to meet with the guardian of the stones. All the stones have returned. The gathering and battle of good vs evil is upon us. The gods have called, and we must answer.”

He opened the heavy oak doors without effort and strode through. The doors weight closed them, leaving Kat in the shadows again. She blinked, almost not believing her eyes and the truth before her. Her secret love had just casually strolled back into her life. Gripping the gem, he’d shaped from her tears, warmth washed over her. Ceallach was here. A smile crossed her face.

Ceallach was here.

Some of My Favorite Items in My Office

Before I get into my writing space, I need to give a little backstory on how and why—because it’s deeply personal to me.

When I began writing seriously, as in deciding this would be my full-time focus and not something I simply tinkered with, we were just coming out of the pandemic. The only dedicated office space in our home was—and still is—my husband’s office. My “office” at the time consisted of the main chair in the great room, otherwise known as Grand Central Station for our household. Peace and quiet were not exactly on the menu.

After several failed attempts at sharing an office with my husband, we started looking for another solution. The idea finally clicked after a vacation rental where I spent a lot of time working in a small office nook. Inspired, we decided to convert an ugly 1990s wet bar in the game room into a study and beverage nook—and just like that, my creative space became reality.

The space has its staples. A coffee maker for brewing coffee and Scots tea. A mini fridge stocked with cold water and snacks. A dedicated snack station filled with chips and cookies, because creativity runs on carbs.

Buddy, our dog, keeps me company in the game room, planted in front of the window where he judges everyone who dares walk past the house. Daisy the cat curls up under the other chair. But my all-time favorite companion is my Dammit Doll.

Years ago, I saw Betty White holding one in a social media post. After looking into what they were for, I ordered one myself, pink with white polka dots. If you’re unfamiliar, they’re weighted dolls designed specifically for slamming against a table when frustration strikes. I relied on her heavily when the triplets were in school. When they graduated, I packed her away, convinced her job was done.

During a recent clean-out, I found her again. Now she sits beside me while I write, on hand, doing her part to keep me sane.

A Pride & Prejudice variation with a slightly paranormal, mainly comic twist!

When Elizabeth Bennet visits her newly-married friend, Charlotte Collins, at the Hunsford parsonage, she has no idea that Mr. Darcy (he of the arrogant demeanor and perpetual cause of annoyance!) shall turn up to ruin her blissful, idyllic days.

Only, Mr. Darcy is not himself. And then Elizabeth stumbles straight through him one day... like one would an apparition! Goodness gracious!

“Mr. Darcy, I do not know what you mean, but I would appreciate it if you would desist from haunting me!”

“I apologize, Miss Bennet, for scaring you,” Mr. Darcy said, almost regretfully.

To solve her haunting problem, Elizabeth must team up with Mr. Darcy to find out what happened to him, and along the way discover that maybe he is not all that he seemed at first. And that maybe... she doesn’t hate him after all.

“You wish to write the letter now?” he asked as she moved past him with the candle.

“Well, to be honest,” she glanced at him. “I would prefer to sleep. But since you are here, I do not see why not.”

From the antics of Lady Catherine de Bourgh to the hilarity of Mr. Collins’ advice on staying fit, The Cherry Trees of Rosings shall make you laugh and cry in equal measure. And wonder: Will our favourite couple find their happy ever after?

Spoiler: Yes, they will!

This Pride and Prejudice variation features our favourite Regency romance couple from Jane Austen's original classic in a somewhat spooky setup. ✨ But fear not, dear readers! ✨ This story is not scary in the least. Prepare for a chuckle fest and abundant cups of tea!

EXCERPT ONE:

“Mr. Collins, you know how I despise green beans!”

Lady Catherine’s brows drew down with annoyance as she looked over the tiny list Charlotte had handed her a few moments ago. It was about the gift baskets the Collinses were tasked with distributing for Easter; one of the yearly tasks of the parsonage.

“You shall not present that vegetable to the congregation,” she emphasized, mouth twisting into a moue of distaste.

Mr. Collins nodded his head vigorously. “Indeed, your ladyship.”

“Potatoes will do very well. Very well, indeed…”

More head nodding from her cousin.

Elizabeth held back a chuckle as the spectacle unfolded before her.

She had been somewhat right in her estimation of Lady Catherine from Mr. Collins’ extensive effusions. But once the introductions were made, she was pleasantly surprised to find that the great lady was even more ridiculous than she had imagined. Her father would be dearly entertained by such human folly once she wrote to him.

“Potatoes are vegetables for the hard-working,” Lady Catherine continued sagely. Then she picked up a cream tart from the platter before her and bit into it.

“You are quite right, your ladyship, as always,” Mr. Collins said. “I merely wished to place the beans in the baskets for the sick—”

“You should speak on the virtues of potatoes in your sermon, Mr. Collins,” the lady said, dusting off the crumbs from her fingers before fixing a glare on her parson.

AUTHOR BIO & LINKS:

Morgan loves exploring themes of personal identity, inner strength, social discourse and hope alongside enduring love in her stories. She also believes that strong heroes and heroines are not enough to make a tale worth telling. They need a supporting cast of good and not-so-good characters that add more punch and vibrancy... and some dramatic ridiculousness!

Morgan is a cat friend, tropical girl who prefers winter clothes, perennial fantasy/historical fiction nerd, and a night owl.

EXCERPT ONE:

Summer Sunrise

Sunrise in the mountains is a majestic and moving sight

It undresses the cloak of darkness and brings the world light To the east a rosy blush begins as earth embraces the dawn Curtains of night are lifted and its shadows soon withdrawn

Tendrils of light steal down the cavernous canyons tall Like fingers of liquid lava running down a volcano wall

Caressing the cliffs and painting a sheen on their snowy faces An artist’s hand and a pastel palette touching many places

Tree by tree tree the forest takes on a new found tinge The seas too are painted from their centre to their fringe

A kaleidoscope of colour as you watch the masterpiece unfold With subtle grace and beauty like an alluring dream untold

Rays of sunlight kiss the soft belly of the fluffy clouds Brushing them with chameleon colours endlessly endowed The world awakens in the sun’s tender soft-hued glow, Each ray a promise, a new day of heartfelt hope to sow.

From darkness to light, there is a magical transition A celestial ballet in a splendid and stately exhibition The wind seems to whisper softly dispelling all fears As a chorus of songbirds add their comforting cheers

The sun ascends faster now as purples turn to gold Bringing its welcoming warmth and dispelling the cold The sky is suddenly ablaze with the early morning light Finally vanquishing the demons of the daunting night

Enjoy Nature’s peace and grandeur as it percolates within Let your heart be touched and feel a solemn serenity begin Cast aside your worries, your troubles and your woes
As renewal begins and a blissful energy soon flows

GUEST POST #1:

Describe Your Book Cover and How It Came About

I wanted the cover to be clear about the topic of the book, yet memorable, dynamic and minimalistic. So I chose many colored, unsorted notes lying on a white background. They symbolize the different people who might resonate with it, as well as the various heartfelt themes and perspectives I love to explore in my writing. Each one feels like a spark, waiting to be shared and to resonate.

GUEST POST #2:

Brain Food for Writers: Healthy Snacks to Ease Writer’s Block

My go-to snacks are quick, plant-based, and light. They support creativity and a calm belly, which is also essential for singing and for a clear mind in general. I love almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts for their healthy fats and magnesium. Red lentil waffles are gentle on digestion and full of plant protein. Linseed, sesame, and wheat protein crackers offer omega-3s and fiber, helping regulate mood and energy. Carrots, blueberries, and melon hydrate and refresh with natural sweetness. Dates and hemp protein raw bars provide quick energy and stabilize the nervous system. I try to always stay hydrated, drinking still water only or unsweetened, histamine-free herbal teas, and getting some fresh air every hour, sometimes even considering a few breaths of pure oxygen for vitality or focus.

GUEST POST #3:

Putting Yourself on a Page: What It Feels Like to Share Your Most Personal Words

That is a beautiful paradox. As a writer, especially as a songwriter and singer, you connect by expressing the deepest emotions and heartfelt thoughts. They are shaped through your personal lens and your most intimate instrument, the voice. You have to truly and fully expose your soul if you aim for genuine connection. It is often a little scary. But always worth it.

GUEST POST #4:

What’s in a Title: How to Create an Intriguing and Eye-Catching Book Title

The most effective advice I can offer, as an award-winning author, award-winning vocal coach, and officially recognized vocational teacher supporting aspiring professional singers and songwriters in Germany, is this: Do not worry, think more like a songwriter! Songwriters are, to me, the most underrated writers. They have little time and not much space to make their point. Sometimes even a single word won’t fit the tune. So if you were about to write a compact, emotional, and intriguing line for a song, what would you do? Keep virtuosity and ego low. At the end of the day, we are advocates of feelings, serving art to inspire others. A cryptic metaphor is not helpful if no one understands it. Resonance happens through similarity and an open heart.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GUEST POST #5:
My Favorite Motivational Phrase
Whenever I am about to craft something or follow a creative impulse, I ask myself if it is truly worth interrupting the silence. In a world full of noise, where energy management and balance matter more than ever, this question shifts the focus from “Can I create?” to “Why would I share this? Do I really believe it has value, and why?“ From there, the vision and mission become clearer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

GUEST POST #6:

Five Reasons You Should Read My Book

1.)  Words to Think. Or to Sing. might be the first award-winning publication with no hangover guarantee, because it does not end with the last page but marks the beginning of a shared, cinematic, creative, sonorous journey where the words come to life in real tracks.

2.)  It offers space for your reflections and sketches too.

3.)  If you love heartfelt, evocative pop music that feels like after a meaningful conversation with a good friend, this is exactly what you are going to get.

4.)  When the songs are released, one at a time, you will already know part of the lyrics, a huge advantage for singing along!

5.)  It reads like modern poetry, but it is actually poetic pop lyrics in progress, also a unique and unprecedented, budget-friendly gift idea. You can add a thoughtful touch to your present and extend it with the accompanying big blank notebook Place to Think. Or to Write., which is available separately on Amazon.
