“I think you have completely lost your mind. You are becoming too soft, too crazy and dangerous for your own good. Bill would never hurt anyone who is a member of his organization. On the contrary, he always looks after his own people. He is even looking after you and your family while you are in prison. What more do you expect? Maybe you purposely got yourself caught so you could sit on your lazy bum while the organization takes care of you,” replied Jack.
“So, it is okay to kill and rape innocent people as long as they are not a member of the organization?”
“If it weren’t for Bill, you would have been sentenced to life in prison. If that is what you want, it can still be arranged.”
Renzo realized that he had put himself and his family in danger. He apologized to Jack and asked if he could at least talk to Tony. “Mr. Donatelli is a busy man. But I will convey your request.”
Jack called Tony that night and explained that Renzo wanted to talk to him. He explained that Renzo was not happy with the decisions regarding his son, and he was going crazy. He did not mention the details Renzo said about Bill and the Acrebond organization.
The next morning, Jack visited Renzo again and explained that Mr. Donatelli had agreed to talk to him but cautioned him not to name names, not even Mr. Donatelli’s. Ten minutes later, Jack’s phone rang—it was Tony. Jack said hello and passed the phone to Renzo. Renzo was calmer today. He had had time to reflect on yesterday’s conversation, and he was a little worried about the things he had said.
“I understand your situation, but I promise that I will look after Robert, and in the case of deliveries, I will make sure that a friendly cop escorts him the whole time. I also promise to replace Robert as soon as I find someone else. Jack will be your contact from now on,” Tony told Renzo.
Renzo became very sad but realized there was nothing much he could do and agreed with the proposed duties for Robert.
