GENRE: Romantic Suspense

BLURB:

Dr. Lissa Morgan has had a crush on her best friend’s older brother since they were kids, but handsome, brooding Cam Taylor has never given her a second glance. When Cam unexpectedly shows up on Lissa’s doorstep bleeding and bruised, his personal life in shambles, things between them take a steamy turn.

After an incredible weekend with the sweet, sexy doctor, Cam realizes what he’s been missing. But he’s run from intimacy his whole life, sure he doesn’t deserve a woman like Lissa. He’s doing her a favor by walking away – or so he tells himself.

Frustrated and hurt by Cam’s distance, Lissa must nonetheless rely on his private security firm when an annoying admirer becomes a threat. The more time Cam spends with Lissa, the faster his defenses crumble. When the disturbed stalker finally makes his move, Cam will do whatever it takes to save the woman who’s slowly healing his wounded soul.

Lost and Found is the third book in the Tactical Solutions International series but can be read as a stand-alone.

EXCERPT ONE:

Cam woke with a splitting headache and no idea where he was. For a few seconds, before his foggy brain cleared, he simply stared at the white ceiling overhead. He ran a hand over the soft blanket covering him, and turned his head carefully to the side. A glass of orange juice, a bottle of pills, and a note sat on a coffee table. His cell phone, keys, and wallet were in a neat pile next to the glass.

Snapshots of memory flashed back into his head, coming in reverse order, like a videotape rewinding. Liss suturing his head. Her friend bringing supplies. Cam sitting outside her door, getting drunk while he waited for her to come home.

He reached for the note, licking his dry lips and squinting past the pounding in his head.

Things you may do: 1. Drink this juice and take some Tylenol. 2. Take off your bloody clothes and leave them in the basket. 3. Shower – the sutures won’t dissolve. 4. Move into my room for more sleep. Things you may not do: 1. Leave – doctor’s orders.

He grinned, hearing Lissa’s voice in his head as he read her instructions. His smile faded when he remembered what had driven him to her doorstep in the first place. He couldn’t think about that right now. He considered sneaking out before Liss returned from wherever she’d gone off to, but he discarded the idea pretty quickly. He needed the pills, the shower, and more sleep.

MY BOOK REVIEW:

Wow!!  This book is super-fast paced with no room for any down time!!  I devoured this book in just one sitting!!  The author has jam packed this book with stirring and stimulating scenes around every corner and you won’t be able to put this book down!!

This book was such an exciting, enticing, romantic, intriguing, suspenseful read!!

I am new to this series and this author and having jumped straight into a series on book three I am thankful to announce that there were no complications or feeling lost moments.  I am was able to just slip right in and pick the story up like I had been there the whole time, from page one in book one.

I really liked the main characters, and I have to say that was probably one of the strongest parts of the book for me.  Their development and growth over the course of the book was well-written, reasonably sound, and satisfying.  I loved Lissa!!  She was strong, smart, caring, considerate, kindhearted, determined, persistent, and a bit sassy.  Strong female lead characters are a favorite of mine and Lissa fits that bill!!  However, I do have one ding to mention about her.  I was disappointed in how easily forgiving she was with Cam and how she just overlooked his excuses and attitude.  I know there’s more to his story and everything, but at times I was like really??  really?? come on now lol!!  And of course, Cam, he was also an enjoyable character.  There is a whole heap of baggage to his name which has caused him to put up walls and not let anyone in.  Cam is tough and capable, but he hides part of himself that believes he is not worth loving and not good enough for Lissa. His past has left him with deep scars inside that affects his ability to trust and build a relationship with anyone.  It is heartbreaking to see him so broken and hurt.  Which is why I previously mentioned how the character development was such a strong aspect of this book as it took damaged characters and built them up to evolve and progress over the course of the book.  I also want to mention that I enjoyed the supporting characters as they also helped make this book a success!!

I really enjoyed that the author created flawed and damaged characters that really showcased her writing style and ability to push her characters to reach their full potential over their arc.

A strong character development journey to root for and enjoy watching it unfold!

I really liked the stalker story line as I am a huge mystery/thriller fan and I love solving cases/puzzles, etc.  This was very much a background plot point, but still very appealing and appropriate to the story.  It was fun trying to guess who Lissa’s stalker was – no spoilers here!!

I have to admit I felt that the love story premise was a bit rushed.  Yes, they have known each other their whole lives, so it’s not like some complete stranger.  However, some scenes just felt more rushed and more pressed.  I loved the strong connection between Lissa and Cam.  You could feel the passion leap off the pages!!  Even though it had been years since they’d seen each other all the emotions came rushing back like it was just the other day.  There’s no doubt that these two were meant to be together, but I think their real love story would have been a bit slower, more realistically paced.

This book was such a fun, quick, enjoyable read that kept this reader glued to the pages!!

There are some predictable scenes.  However, there are still a few very unexpected twists and turns that you won’t see coming!

Also, please note that there are a few adult scenes with very detailed descriptions that made even this blogger blush lol!!

This book is Book Three of the Tactical Solutions International Book Series.  This book can be read as a standalone, however, there are significant character and story line overlap from the previous books.  Even with the overlaps, this book wouldn’t be confusing to new series readers, but I personally would think it would make more sense and have a stronger impact on the understanding of this book series, if you started with book one first.

All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and would absolutely recommend it!  I think all romantic, suspense readers will like this book too – and this book series!  So, add it to your TBR List and get to reading - you won't be disappointed!
