EXCERPT TWO:

Curtis rested his forehead against Holly’s, and her heart decided. She nodded in agreement.

“Is that a yes?” he asked, his voice low and husky.

“Yes.” Her response came out breathy, which didn’t surprise her. Whenever she was around Curtis, she felt like a breathless teenage girl.

“You won’t be sorry.” He brushed a hand through her hair. “Damn, you’re beautiful.”

She let out a nervous laugh. It was so dark that all she could make out were shadowy images. His words were sweet, but that didn’t stop the insecurity from poking at her insides. She didn’t look anything like the stunning women she’d seen him with over the years.

“That, coming from you.” She shook her head. “You’ve always seemed to have a steady stream of gorgeous women.”

“You can’t believe everything you read.”

Maybe she shouldn’t, but she’d read the articles and she’d seen the pictures. She wondered if any of those women had meant anything to him and if he’d found love over the last decade. She didn’t want to ask, but she needed to know. “What was your longest relationship?” she asked, scuffing her sandal on the floor.

He ran a hand through his hair. Maybe it had only been a few weeks, which is what the Internet had led her to believe.

“Over six months,” he said, surprising her.

She tilted her head. “Why did you break up?”

His pause was long, but she held the silence, determined to wait him out. After what felt like an hour, he finally responded. “Georgiana thought I was still hung up on you.”

MY BOOK REVIEW:

Another fantastic read from Sedona Hutton!!!

This is the fourth book of Sedona’s that I’ve had the pleasure of reading!! Last year, I had previously read and enjoyed Sedona’s other books, “Nora’s Promise,” and “The Perfect Lap,” from her Racing Hearts of Serenity Book Series.  So, I was thrilled to get the chance to read her latest work, “Restart in Bristol,” which is Book Three from the same series!

Sedona’s writing only continues to improve, grow, and expand with each book!  I know she will be author I will continue to read over the years!

I loved the main characters, Holly Nicholson and Curtis “CC” Clark!  They were likable, genuine, and realistic!  They both had baggage, but that’s what made them such great characters!!  There was a huge spark between these two that even after years apart was still burning ever so brightly!!

I absolutely loved Holly!!!  I really liked that Holly was a veterinarian and had a passion for helping animals at the shelter.  I instantly clicked with her and enjoyed following her story.  She easily seemed like someone you’d want to be friends with and want to cheer on!!  I love the strong female lead characters Sedona creates.  They are inspiring, original, and encouraging.

I also enjoyed CC and how protective, caring, stubborn, and sweet he was to Holly!!  They both had such great chemistry and fit well together!!  In addition, I really enjoyed all the supporting characters – it was great catching back up with everyone from the previous books in the series.

I think the author did an amazing job on her character development as these characters were so real and personal on many levels!

I love the second chance theme!!  Like the main characters in this book, a lot of us mess up relationships when we’re young.  Many of us don’t get the second chance to have a do-over when we’re a little bit older, wiser, and more mature.  I have certainly thought about the one that got away and what it would be like if we had the chance to try again.  This book plays on that what-if possibility.

I also really enjoyed the NASCAR element of this book. That was really cool getting a VIP insider glance into that world.

This book has a creative story line that evenly flows, superb writing style with meticulously well-described scenes, strongly-developed characters, is steady paced, and completely keeps you fully entertained!!

This book is book three of A Racing Hearts in Serenity Romance Book Series.  This book can be read as a standalone, however, there are significant character overlap from the previous book.  Even with the overlaps, this book wouldn’t be confusing to new series readers, but I personally would think it would make more sense and have a stronger impact on the understanding of this book series, if you started with book one first.

I would absolutely recommend this book, this book series, and this author as I was truly impressed with the quality of writing, intriguing story line, and excellent character development!  I will definitely be continuing to follow this author and check out her upcoming books!!  Can't wait to see what she comes out with next!!
