GENRE: Modern Adult Romance W/Erotic Elements

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Zoey DeLucca is a successful Michigan divorce attorney. Growing up the center of a bitter custody battle between her neglectful mother and her caring father convinced her to become a Family Law attorney and champion the father’s that seldom won in court.
Her handsome husband, Mickey, works for an oil development company. The money is great but as he climbs the corporate ladder, he must spend more time traveling and away from home.
It was love at first sight when they met in college. Their storybook marriage is the envy of all of their friends. They keep the spark in their marriage glowing red hot with wild, uninhibited behaviors in the bedroom. So why does the feeling of impending doom occupy Zoey’s thoughts?
Zoey’s Place is a modern erotic romance about bonding friendships and life’s lessons. See how Zoey handles the challenges that come her way. Experience her joys, fears, and unusual solutions.
This book contains explicit sex scenes and very mature subject matter. It is intended for adult pleasures only. So, turn on the fan, because it’s going to get hot!
EXCERPT ONE:
It was early evening. A scarlet sunset had faded into muted grey tones. The shimmering reflection of the moon danced on the surface of the lake as the lovers emerged naked, hand in hand.
The subject of love was not brought up nor was the word uttered by either. But it was love that was made that night. It was passionate and personal. They were two unwittingly becoming one.
GUEST POST:
Putting Yourself on a Page: What It’s Like to Share Your Most Personal Words with the World:
I want to thank Fabulous and Brunette for having me guest post during my Zoey’s Place Virtual Book Tour. This is my second time here and I’m excited to share my thoughts again. I gave this subject a lot of reflection.
In short, I would say that putting myself on a page and sharing my most personal words with the world is strangely exhilarating. But those words do not encapsulate the range of emotions and feelings I experience when I think of baring my soul to the universe. It’s also different when I think of a stranger reading my words verses my family, my friends, or my husband. It sometimes scares me that my words are out there for everyone, good and bad, to read. But you can’t live your life in fear. I take precautions for my privacy and safety.
My family is large. It includes countless cousins with their spouses and children and grand-children, some dearly loved aunts and uncles, sisters and a brother and their spouses and families. I don’t live close to any of them but stay in touch with social media.
I use a lot of their names in my stories. I’ve even had requests for name placement. I think this kind of gives me an edge when it comes to their approval ratings. I enjoy sharing my books with them. Most of them can figure out the hidden clues to real life experiences in my books as my characters navigate around them. They have all been very supportive. And although I write erotic romance, they all seem to enjoy it. I have to admit, when my aunts admitted that they read my book I was a little shocked. But then, we do all swim in the same gene pool.
My daughter-in-law and some of her family enjoy my writing and I’m proud to share it with them. My son, on the other hand, does not read my books, nor do I want him to. I don’t blame him for not wanting to read explicit sexual details that may or may not be in your mother’s play book. You have to draw the line somewhere.
My close circle of friends give me strength and support and I feel nothing but proud when they comment on my writing.
With a stranger it’s more remote. It’s kind of scary thinking that almost anyone, anywhere in the world, can read my book, my baby, my thoughts. Every author puts some of themselves in their characters, especially the main character. Readers don’t know me and have no idea what part of me is in the characters I write about. My goal is that they derive pleasure from my words. I feel vulnerable to a degree, hoping my readers feel empathy with the character without exposing too much of myself. I feel as naked as my characters sometimes.
The strangest emotion I feel is the idea of my husband reading my books. It’s kind of hard to explain that the books are fiction when he recognizes situations or actions. He’s been supportive and takes it all in stride but sometimes I know he wonders how his wife can be the woman that writes such stories and where do I get those ideas.
My female lead characters are strong women with independent thought, unashamed of their sexuality. I never degrade women. That is a reflection of myself and I hope my words give other women the courage to be just as brave, bold, and unafraid. If my reader is a man, then I hope the takeaway is that women are a thing of beauty to be valued and treated as an equal.
Putting yourself out there is part of the thrill of writing. Not everyone is going to like my books, and that’s okay. I write for those who enjoy erotic romance. I try to create a story that is romantically sexy, real life, and believable. My characters are regular people that have to get in touch with their inner self to create their own happiness. They thrive as they rise to the challenge. I feel pride and honored that others want to read my words. Just knowing that they enjoy the fruits of my labor is a priceless reward in itself and I’m filled with gratitude.
AUTHOR BIO:
E.M. Bannock grew up in the Detroit suburbs. She is the second child of seven and eldest daughter of a working class family. Her parents had traditional, old style, European ideals which clashed with her modern, adventurous personality. The daughters were not encouraged to attend college. Instead they were expected to get married, have children, and be homemakers.
Her father was a great storyteller and sparked her love for writing. In high school she enjoyed writing short stories and poetry. A small inheritance from her father gave her the funds needed to begin her career as a published author. She has published two books, Totally Devoted, which is also available in audio, and Zoey’s Place.
Born with the wanderlust, she found herself in Los Angeles. LA was an exciting place to be in the early 70’s and she experienced all that it had to offer. She met her husband there.
Marie and her small family have lived in California, Oregon, Alaska, Florida, and Wyoming, where she now lives with her small family which includes a spoiled dog and cat, two horses, also spoiled, and a brood of chickens that live like queens in the chicken-coupe-de-ville.
She has made her living as an office manager, computer programmer/analysts, project manager, clothing sales person, substitute teacher, and buffalo meat packer. Throughout it all, she never lost her love for writing.
E.M. Bannock is a Goodreads Author, a BookHub Author, a member of the Romance Writers of America, and a Rocky Mountain Fiction Writer.  Her book, “Totally Devoted” is a finalist for a 2019 NERFA (National Excellence in Romance Fiction Award) in two categories.
