EXCERPT TWO:

He straddled the bleachers so he was facing her and patted the space in front of him. Nora hesitated, but then she straddled the bleacher facing him. He took both of her hands. “Nora, not all men leave.”

 “The men in my life do,” she said, glancing down at their joined hands.

“Maybe you just haven’t found the right man,” Davey said, shocked even as the words rolled out of his mouth. Where had that come from? But it got Nora’s attention.

“Maybe.” Her response was tentative but her head lifted and her shoulders relaxed as she spoke.

“How about we just take this one step at a time,” he suggested, touching a hand to her cheek.

Her green eyes widened and sparked with surprise. “We have a this?”

“I sure as hell hope so.” He leaned in and skimmed his lips over hers. When she let out a soft moan, he kissed her, sweet, intense, and lingering. He drew back only when he needed air.

“We can’t do this,” she said. But as she protested, she nibbled on his lower lip.

“Really?” he asked, half-amused. On a hunch, he waited her out. Sure enough, a couple of beats later she tugged his mouth to hers for a smoking hot kiss.

When she drew back, she slid back. “We gotta stop doing that,” she said, even though her actions indicated she wanted something entirely different. She rubbed her fingers over her lips like they were still burning from his kiss and her eyes glinted red hot desire.

While she was still a little disoriented, he pulled her in closer. “I’m gonna come back you know.” He rested his forehead on hers. “As much as I can in between races.”

“I want to believe,” she said, her voice barely a whisper.

BOOK REVIEW:

I TOTALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

This book keeps you totally engaged from page one through the very last page!  I honestly had a hard time putting this book down!

Last year, I had previously read and enjoyed Sedona’s other book, “Cloud Whispers,” so I was thrilled to get the chance to read her latest work.

Sedona’s writing only continues to improve, grow, and expand with each book!  I know she will be author I will continue to read over the years!

This book was such a fun, sweet, entertaining, enjoyable read!!!

I loved the main characters, Nora, Davey, Ben, and Pap!  They were likable, genuine, and realistic (minus some special abilities lol)!  They all had baggage and had come from difficult pasts – but that’s what made them real and I think help them relate to each other and easily form a bond.

I loved Nora and Davey together – they fit well together and had chemistry that just sizzled off the pages!!

I absolutely LOVED that Nora was an animal rescuer.  I am such an animal lover so I totally connected to that and those were some of my favorite passages.

I also really enjoyed the NASCAR element about Davey being the hot-shot driver.  That was really cool getting a VIP insider glance into that world.

This book has a great storyline that flows, terrific writing style with detailed scenes, well-developed characters, is steady paced, and keeps you completely entertained through the last page.

I like that this book touches on many topics such as love, romance, friendship, family, hard life lessons, second chances, change, dedication, perseverance, growth, humor, compassion, empathy, integrity, unity, determination, faith, hope, forgiveness, moving on, challenges, starting over, new beginnings, fresh starts, overcoming obstacles, and so much more!

For me, this book absolutely worked!!!  It hit everything I look for and need when I am reading and reviewing a book!!!

I would absolutely recommend this book, and this author as I was truly impressed with the quality of writing, intriguing storyline, and excellent character development!  I will definitely be continuing to follow this author and check out her upcoming books!
