“It must be difficult; constantly running away from anything remotely intimidating.”

It’s the dare in his voice that makes me turn my head, not the statement.

“Those are the words of someone who hasn’t gotten what they want.” Even as I’m speaking I know I’m the mouse in this cat and mouse game—I should walk away, but I can’t.

“What do you know about what I want?” He climbs the last step of the porch, his broad shoulders flexed.

Refusing to take the bait, I give him my back. Reaching for the door with my right hand, I’m halted by the strong pull of my left.

Before I can focus, his lips press against mine while his body traps me between him and the door. One of his hands runs over the curve of my waist while the other tangles in the curls of my hair, pulling on the strands and angling me so that he can have free reign. I moan, loving the possessive way he grips my body, and he takes the opportunity to dip his tongue inside my mouth. His taste is divine; it’s a heady mix of wine and passion. The remnants of my resistance melt as I meld against him, moving my hands over his stomach, and resting them on his belt buckle.

He pulls back with a quick nip to my bottom lip and my eyes pop open at the sudden jolt of pleasure-filled pain.

“Say you’ll do the mural,” he commands.

“Do you always get what you want?” I counter, gazing up at him from lowered lashes.

He rubs his cheek against mine so his lips hover over my ear.

“Persistence is a virtue.”

“I thought that was patience.”

1.        The female lead, Evelyn Snowe, is beautifully-damaged and though at times she doesn’t realize it—resilient.

What can I say, I’ve always been the type to root for the underdog and Evelyn, in many respects is an underdog. She’s a woman who has gone through loss and lived with unbearable regret.

Assuming we can’t do something is a visceral sentiment—one people can relate to—and while it’s easy to give-up, the moments we most remember in life are those in which we find the strength to rise above our hardships. I’ve loved writing about Evelyn’s growth as a person and I think many people will love reading/taking that journey with her.

How can I fault him for being so brutal in his honesty? I admire his lack of inhibitions, and yet that attitude is only possible for a select few. Of course, Adam Black always gets what he wants. He’s rich, handsome, intelligent, and above all else, not hindered by the shadows that are in my past…

2.   Adam Black is the type of Sexy-Alpha-Male that will dominate your dreams.

Sinfully assertive. Unapologetically demanding. Surprisingly tender. The list could go on and on…

I’m a fan of billionaire romances with complex, smart characters so when I set out to write a story of my own I tried hard to develop people I would not only want to genuinely meet, but people who I can admire. I love reading witty dialogue and feeling vested in the lives of the people between the pages of a book—I also love stories that keep going. Waking to Black is the first book in a trilogy. Evelyn and Adam’s story is far from done, so if you’re like me and want an emotional, angst-filled read, the Uninhibited Trilogy is something you have to take a chance on.

4.   It’s a decadent love story that will leave you craving more.

Everyone who has read the story thus far has asked me when book two of the Uninhibited Trilogy is going to be released, (Summer 2018). I have no intention of making people wait long to keep reading about Evelyn and Adam’s love story.

I think those who have read Waking to Black want more because it’s definitely a steamy, sexy read about self-exploration and revelation. Fate throws these two people together and when they collide everything changes—they are each other’s wake-up calls.

5.   It’s all about second chances.

Life can be vicious. One moment you’re floating high and then suddenly you’re crashing down, unable to cope with the repercussions of what may be completely out of your control. My own life has had instances like this and I’m sure it’s the truth for many others.

Evelyn and Adam are each other’s second chance at happiness. This story is about hope; the hope we can be more than the bad decisions of our past or the uncontrollable curveballs fate has thrown our way.

For the first time in years I feel brave, and I know it’s because of him. Adam makes me believe that second chances are not only found in fairytales.
