My Review:

I have heard about derma rollers, but I had never tried one before.  I suffer from acne, acne scars, dark spots, and uneven skin tone.  I am always interested in trying skincare products that help me reduce or eliminate these skin issues instead of just hiding them with makeup.

I honestly hate needles, so I was scared to try this product.  I had no idea why anyone would intentionally run needles over their face.  However, there is so much popularity around derma rollers and I was beginning to get curious.  So I was happy to be asked by Petunia Skincare to try their product, Derma Roller 540 Needles 1.5mm.

This product came in a pretty maroon box.  Inside the box was a plastic case that contained the derma roller.  The derma roller was gold and champagne colored with a purple roller and a purple flower on the bottom of the handle.  The top of the derma roller had little dots to place your finger on for soft comfort and to secure placement.  I liked how light and thin the Petunia Skincare Derma Roller was.

Although a bit nervous and scared, I was ready to see what all the hype was about and finally try the derma roller.  As directed I made sure my face was clean before using the Petunia Skincare Derma Roller.  I then rolled back and forth with steady speed and slight pressure.  As instructed, I rolled the roller in all four directions; vertically, horizontally, and diagonally 10 times each.  I rolled on my forehead, chin, and at the side of my eyes.

The first time I used the Petunia Skincare Derma Roller I pressed very gently as I was somewhat nervous using it.  After each roll I was able to apply more pressure as I got used to the motion.

I like that this product is easy to use.  Petunia Skincare provided step-by-step instructions on the box with detailed pictures.  In addition, this product came with an e-book, “The Ultimate Guide to Derma Rolling” which provides significant information about the whole background and process of derma rolling.  Immediately after purchasing this product, Petunia Skincare Derma Roller, I received an email thanking me for my business, product tips and information for best use, and the ebook.

This product does feel weird to use at first and it does take some time to get used to.  However, it wasn't actually scary or super painful to use.  In fact, some of the rolls actually tickled.  Although different areas on the face and body feel different under the Petunia Skincare Derma Roller, none of them were too painful or uncomfortable.  It feels like tiny, tiny little pricks, softer than a pinch.

After using this product, Petunia Skincare Derma Roller my skin was somewhat red and splotchy.  I would definitely recommend not using this product before going out of the house.  Petunia Skincare recommends only rolling at night to avoid the redness that may prevent you from doing normal activities.

After using Petunia Skincare Derma Roller I applied a moisturizer.  Petunia Skincare recommends applying active ingredients and/or skincare products for fast absorption into the skin.  I definitely think adding the skincare product after rolling helps the moisturizer fully penetrate the skin and lock in hydration.  Plus, the moisturizer helps reduce the redness of the rolling after effect.

The following day after usage is when I started to really notice a difference.  As the next morning I felt like my skin was tighter and firmer.  My face felt soft, smooth, and silky.  I looked refreshed, rejuvenated, and even younger.  My face continued to glow for days.  I also started noticing my skin tone was lightening and my acne scars were less noticeable.

I really like that my skin has been less oily since using Petunia Skincare Derma Roller.  This has also led to decreased acne outbreaks.
