GENRE: Romantic Suspense/Thriller

BLURB:

Foraging the cyber-world for puzzle pieces…

Zeus Hernandez, a Black Raven partner, is pulled away from a top-secret project to be the personal bodyguard to lawyer Samantha Fairfax. Terrorists have rendered the future frightening and uncertain, but Zeus and Samantha’s past makes two things crystal clear: she’ll be furious to see him and he can’t refuse the job.

Sorting pieces as stakes rise…

Danger surrounds the International Terrorism Tribunal, a court convened to combat terrorism. Samantha is thrust into the limelight when her mentor dies as the trial convenes in Paris, France. Her role requires steadfast focus and nerves of steel. She’s determined to do her job and move her life ahead, according to plan…without Zeus. He’s determined she’ll reconsider.

Completing the puzzle as their worlds collide…

As personal drama escalates behind closed doors, terrorists take aim at an Achilles’ heel that is capable of crippling Zeus, Samantha, and Black Raven. While forcing puzzle pieces to click into place, a personal reckoning looms for these two strong-willed people. There’s no denying they might be better off apart…but they fit together so well.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT TWO:
He was breathing heavily, as though he’d just stepped off the treadmill. So was she. He’d showered just a couple of hours earlier, when they’d come in from the trial. The scent of fresh soap mixed with his musky male, woodsy scent. His body, already warm from the run, was getting hotter. Desire had her knees and arms trembling, and deep inside her internal muscles pulsed with need.
He groaned, pulling her closer, pressing her body flat against him.
With the very last of her willpower, in a throaty voice that didn’t sound to her own ears anything like herself, she said, “Just so you’re clear. Nothing is happening here but sex, and it has nothing to do with what happened before. We’re not going to have that conversation. Ever.”
“Believe what you want to believe,” he muttered, as his lips touched hers. “Just so you’re clear, I’d prefer to clear the air now. And we will go ther—”
“Forget it.”
“Give me a second,” he said, separating from her, turning, and walking away. He went into his bedroom, and reappeared before she caught her breath. He had a condom packet in his hand.
“Sex was a foregone conclusion on this job?”
Serious black eyes glanced at her with a complex look swirling with undercurrents that she couldn’t decipher. “If this were just a job, I wouldn’t be here.”
“I’m on the pill,” she said, a fact that had been sufficient for him before.
“Learned the hard way that the pill isn’t foolproof,” he said with a frown, “and I’d still prefer to clear the air first. By talking.”
She stepped closer to him, stood on tiptoes, and whispered, before their lips met, “Not sure the air will ever be clear and don’t want to waste time talking.” Before he could grab her arms, she gripped the waistband of his shorts and yanked them down.
His mouth found hers as she wrapped her hand around him. Pressing herself against his abdomen, she felt him shudder as she ran her fingers down the taut flesh of his erection.
Now. Please. Persuade me I’ve been wrong. Prove my memory distorted reality. Show me you’re really not the best.
A SEAL's Vow by Cora Seton - Book Tour - Blurb Blitz & Giveaway - Enter Daily!
A SEAL's Vow
by Cora Seton
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

GENRE:  Contemporary Romance

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
After fifteen long, dangerous years in the service, Navy SEAL Clay Pickett is ready for his new mission: build a model sustainable community and show the world an exciting alternative to a consumption-based life. If that means he’s got a deadline to find a wife in order to win the reality TV show that’s filming his sustainable adventure, so be it. He’s got just the woman for the job in mind: beautiful, dedicated Nora Ridgeway.
When Nora left her job as a school teacher in Baltimore to live a simpler, Jane Austen style life in Montana with her friends, she was relieved to escape the escalating threats of violence from an unknown student stalker, but she can’t help feeling she’s abandoned the other high schoolers who put their faith in her. She’s torn about Clay’s advances, too. On the one hand she’s never met anyone like the strong, sexy SEAL. On the other hand, life’s taught her to take relationships slow—and Clay’s on a deadline.
When arson strikes and Nora disappears, Clay knows he’ll need every trick he learned in his time with the SEALs to track her down and save her life.
Can two people caught by their pasts have a chance at a future?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT TWO:

Reluctantly, Nora stood and crossed the room as directed. She knew there was no getting out of these interviews, but she wasn’t looking forward to them. I’m here to write, she reminded herself. There’s nothing remotely interesting about me. Viewers will get bored of me in about two minutes and then everyone will leave me alone.

She felt pretentious posed by the piano, especially since she didn’t play, but Renata seemed happy with the arrangement. When the camera man was satisfied that the light was acceptable, she began.

“Clay’s pretty hot, huh, Nora? All those muscles?”

Nora blinked. She opened her mouth, then closed it again. “I… uh…wouldn’t know,” she finally gasped.

“Funny, you couldn’t keep your eyes off of him in our meeting just now.”

“I… I’m not—I didn’t… That’s not true!” Nora was appalled. She hadn’t pictured anything like this when she’d agreed to be on the show. It wasn’t that she was naïve—she knew what reality television was like, but she didn’t expect to be attacked for looking at Clay.

“So you’re telling me you don’t find him the least bit attractive?”

“I didn’t say that!” Nora felt her cheeks heat. Damn it, she hadn’t meant to say that, either.

“So you do find him attractive.”

“I didn’t—” Nora broke off in confusion.

“You can’t have it both ways,” Renata retorted. “So which is it?” The smile she flashed at Nora was downright evil. Nora promised herself she’d get her revenge someday.

“I guess… I find him attractive,” she admitted through gritted teeth.

“He needs to marry in the next forty days.” Renata eyed her shrewdly. “Will you be the blushing bride?”

“Absolutely not,” Nora snapped. “Now, if we’re finished here—”

“Oh, no—you don’t get to leave yet.” Renata moved to intercept her when Nora headed for the door. “We’ve only gotten started.”

The Healer’s Rune
by Lauricia Matuska

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Fantasy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Three hundred years after a great war shattered the Council of Races, the warriors of Rüddan have all but eradicated their cousins, the faerie Aethel. In so doing, they decimated the Dryht sages and enslaved mortal Humanity. Now a voice rises above the chaos and calls her people to rebel. Young Sabine, one of the Human slaves, must learn to overcome centuries of lies and prejudice to forge an alliance between four enemy races. But what chance does she stand to overthrow the Rüddan with her dangerous secret, a secret that threatens not only her own life but the existence of all the races on the planet?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT TWO:
A tall, slender figure stood before the wall, a dim shadow outlined in sharp angles by the golden light.  Prompted by some silent cue, it stepped into the light and seemed to shrink, as if walking away.  Suddenly, it disappeared, and the yellow light began to fade.  Before Sabine knew what was happening, the glow winked out so abruptly that bright spots danced through her vision.  She waited for her eyes to adjust to the darkness.
When she could see once more, the wall looked normal, each brick placed upon another in its ordinary manner.
Magic!  Sabine began to tremble.
How to Draw Cool Stuff
by Catherine V. Holmes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

GENRE:  Non-Fiction

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
How to Draw Cool Stuff: Holidays, Seasons and Events is a step-by-step drawing guide that illustrates popular celebrations, holidays and events for your drawing pleasure. From the Chinese New Year to April Fools' Day, Father's Day to Halloween, Christmas and New Year’s Eve - this book covers over 100 fun days, holidays, seasons and events, and offers simple lessons that will teach you how to draw like a pro and get you in the spirit of whichever season it may be!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT TWO:

The Book Details:

Inside you will find specific exercises that offer step-by-step guidelines for drawing a variety of subjects. Each lesson starts with an easy-to-draw shape that will become the basic structure of the drawing. From there, each step adds elements to that structure, allowing the artist to build on their creation and make a more detailed image.

Each art project comes with a chart including information that the artist should be able to KNOW (facts, basic skills), UNDERSTAND (big ideas, concepts, essential questions), and therefore be able to DO (final assessment, performance, measurements of objectives) by the end of the lesson.

This additional information gives these pages more power than just 'art for art's sake' - not that you need it - because art is important enough on its own! Artists are learning about themselves as expressive souls through the process of creating beautiful and interesting work.

The best part is, this is stuff that artists want to draw.

Information for Teachers using this Book:

Teachers can feel confident that they are using instructional time in ways that make a difference for their students when using this guide. Each lesson includes easy-to-follow instruction where the whole process is viewed through a sequence of detailed illustrations that can be linked to historical connections, your curriculum learning standards or adapted into an arts integration lesson. You decide how intense to make each project.

The projects can be differentiated to respond to students' diverse learning styles through a mixture of visuals and text.

The Girl Who Could Change Fate
by Cassidy Ostergren

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE:  YA Fantasy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Lacey Joy White considers herself unremarkable in every way: she worries over choosing the right clothes, tries to maintain a D in chemistry, and spends nights creeping on her crush on Facebook. And she can alter the future.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT TWO:
“How did you guys know we were here?” asked Christian quietly.
Dawson dispelled his gaze from his dead friend.  “Some drunken buddies of mine told me they couldn’t believe part of the party was making fireworks out of my barn.  I came to check out what they meant when I ran into Brandon and Courtney.  They called the police and the Regime right away.”
I gaped at him.  Party?  What party?  And then it jolted me—Dawson’s Halloween shindig, where normal people were getting sloshed and making out with friends and not getting killed.  Had that all really been a mere half an hour or so ago?
I knelt down and cradled my face in my hands.  Trinity stooped to rub my back.  But her motherly caressing couldn’t stop the silently spreading need inside of me…I wasn’t normal, no—not like Emily Boyle and her Creepe cronies and all those others.  I had my gift, the one which I couldn’t help but seek to use…And did Christian undergo any of this when he exploited his Memory Shifting?
I glanced up at him, hoping to recognize any sign that he had enjoyed manipulating his power, savoring that untamed triumph, in that moment where he had control like no one else did.  But he just stood there, defeated, shaking his head absently.
