MY BOOK REVIEW:

This book is such a beautifully told story that is full of inspiration, courage, curiosity, diversity, love, friendship, and encouragement!!!

I love positive children’s books and this book totally fits that bill!!! Children need love, encouragement, confidence, motivation, and self esteem while they are at such a vulnerable and developing stage. It’s important that children see these attributes from all dimensions not just their friends, family, and teachers; but also from the books, internet, movies, and tv shows that they are exposed to.

The Tiger Like Me, takes the reader on an exciting adventure with the main character, a young girl named Abhi. Abhi is different. She’s unlike her seven sisters and the other girls in her village. One day, during a dare from her sister’s she goes into the forest and meets several intriguing creatures, including a tiger named Tanzeer, who is also different. While on this journey, she learns to be brave, face her fears, gains perspective of the value of being unique, and discovers the depth of how we are all still the same.

This book has so many incredible and valuable messages that are beneficial to readers of all ages!! Furthermore, this book can easily connect, resonate, and be enjoyed by all readers as it is universally applicable and is relevant in today’s society.

Being different has caused so much hurt to too many children over their informative years. If we all viewed these unique characteristics in a positive, healthy manner, instead of seeing them as debilities and weaknesses, which can often lead to depression, pain, truancy, bullying, etc., children could safely embrace their difference.

I also really enjoyed the expressive, lively, spirited illustrations!! These images skillfully captured the essence of the characters and provided vivid story line details.

This is a book that a kid will want to read, and they won’t be embarrassed to read in front of their friends or their parents. It’s the right kind of a book a kid should be reading and the right kind of book their parent will be glad they are reading!

All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and would absolutely recommend it!! I think all young readers (and even those not so young lol!!) will like this book too!! So, add it to your TBR List and get to reading - you won't be disappointed!!
